The cast and fans of the TV show SUPERNATURAL have become united through tragedy, following the report of the death of a fan. The fan, who we will not name, died by suicide after a sustained campaign of online harassment by anonymous internet users.
It is understood that members of the fandom continue to be harassed by an as yet unidentified and anonymous group of harassers. The community has responded with an overwhelming degree of support over this difficult period, providing help to those who need it.
The stars of the show have also added their support via Twitter. Stars include Misha Collins (who plays Castiel) and Mark Sheppard (who plays Crowley) and Osric Chau, known for his role as Kevin.
If rumors of what’s happening in fandom are true, that sucks. We might not be able to stop hatred, but we can try to stop listening to it.
