Over the festive period, we’ve all likely shared a tipple or two with some of our nearest and dearest, but Dwayne Johnson has certainly had some interesting company at Chez Johnson.

Taking to his Instagram page, Johnson, who is playing Black Adam in Warner Brothers’ long-mooted Shazam movie, shared a picture of himself enjoying a beverage with none other than Henry Cavill, The WB’s current incarnation of the Man of Steel, Superman.

The former WWE World Champion captioned the image with, “Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Black Adam as Superman. Today we drink like gentlemen and come together as friends. We’re excited for what the future brings #DangerousGentlemen #DCWorldsWillCollide”

What has fans most intrigued here is the “DC Worlds Will Collide” hashtag, as already speculation has arisen to suggest that we may actually see Cavill’s Last Son of Krypton turn up in Shazam. This wouldn’t be the first time that these two characters have matched up, for Superman has battled Black Adam several times in the DC comic book realm. Additionally, there was the coming together of Supes and Shazam in 2010’s impressive Superman/Shazam!: The Return of Black Adam. For those unaware, Black Adam is one of the few rogues who’s near-enough just as powerful as Superman, marking him as a major player in the DC world.

Of course, the aforementioned Shazam film has yet to find a director, a Billy Batson or a Shazam. Jack the Giant Slayer’s Darren Lemke is currently working on the screenplay for the movie, which has been announced for an April 5th, 2019 release date.

As ever, expect more on all of this if and when it develops.
