News broke at the end of last year that said CBS’ Supergirl was looking to cast a young Superman-in-waiting, and today brings confirmation that the Melissa Benoist-starrer has found its teen Kal-El.

Daniel DiMaggio is the young man for the job, with the Tales of Halloween and A Tiger’s Tail actor set to appear as the future Last Son of Krypton. Now given that when Kara arrived on Earth to protect her cousin he’d already grown into an adult and become Superman, many were wondering how Supergirl would accommodate a young Kal-El. Well, now all has become crystal clear.

We previously reported that one of the show’s upcoming episodes will be For the Girl Who Has Everything, which will be a play on the famed Superman tale For the Man Who Has Everything. In this outing, Kara will be put into a dream-like state and see what her life would’ve been like if Krypton was never destroyed. It’s here that the young Kal-El will feature.

That episode, along with the teen Kal-El’s appearance, will air on February 8th in the US. For us UK folks, it’s expected that Supergirl will return to Sky1 for its mid-season premiere in March.
