SUPERGIRL Casting a Young Superman

Make of this what you will, but CBS’ Supergirl is on the hunt for a young Kal-El.

TVLine reports that the show is looking to cast a 13-year-old with “future leading man looks” for the role of the young Superman for a bunch of flashback moments that are supposedly to be used to establish the bond between Kal-El and Kara.

Of course, this maybe doesn’t make all that much sense. After all, the show itself has already established that Kara was trapped in The Phantom Zone when the Last Son of Krypton was 13 years of age. As such, it will be interesting to see how this young Supes-in-waiting is used.

This isn’t the first time that Supergirl has made mention of Superman, with the hero having already briefly appeared in two of the first three episodes.
