After years of rumours and false starts, it appears that a Suicide Squad movie could finally be happening. The Hollywood Reporter writes that the film, titled TASK FORCE X, is moving forward and is eying END OF WATCH’s David Ayer to direct. The last time that the film was in the works, STREET FIGHTER: THE LEGEND OF CHUN-LI’s Justin Marks was attached to pen the script, although the feature was shelved due to Warner Brothers instead deciding to focus their time on JUSTICE LEAGUE.

The rag-tag bunch of rogues known as the Suicide Squad have been getting a fair amount of attention in the last year or two, having appeared in ARROW and taken centre-stage in the recent BATMAN: ASSAULT ON ARKHAM. After debuting way back in 1959, the team has featured a rotating roster, including the likes of Deathstroke, Count Vertigo, Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, Poison Ivy, Killer Frost, Bane, and Harley Quinn. The group are generally implanted with detonators and then sent on what some would deem as suicide missions, which if they do not comply with orders then they go kaput.

Expect more on this as it develops.
