With the second season of Stranger Things set for this Halloween, now comes an idea of how long we can expect this much-loved show to stick around for.

Creators Matt and Ross Duffer revealed to EW that the current plan is for the series to run for four or five seasons.

Ross Duffer then explained, “Everything changes as we move forward so we’ll see,” before Matt added, “I want it to have a really finite ending. I don’t want it to be one of those shows that runs out of gas and they lose it because they’re losing interest. You wanna end when you’re on top.”

The current plan for the upcoming Season 2 is for it to feel like one long movie, much like how the debut season had that same feel to it. On this new season, Matt enthused, “Hopefully you’ll come to the end of Season 2 and feel fully satisfied and want more but you’ll feel like it has come to a conclusion. But also we’ve laid the groundwork for further seasons.”

As mentioned, Stranger Things returns to Netflix this Halloween.
