With a second season of this year’s must-see Stranger Things already confirmed, now comes word on two new additions for the Netflix series.

It’s been revealed that Sadie Sink and Dacre Montgomery will be joining the cast for what’s tentatively being referred to as simply Stranger Things 2. Sink, best known for Odyssey, will be playing Max, a “tomboy with a complicated history and a suspicious streak”. As for Montgomery, the young actor, soon to be seen as the Red Ranger in the upcoming Powers Rangers redo, will be playing Billy, Max’s charismatic bad boy of a step-brother.

In addition to this, Joe Kerry and Noah Schnapp have been bumped up to series regulars for this new season. Kerry played Steve and Schnapp played Will Byers, respectively, in the show’s debut season.

Stranger Things 2 will arrive on Netflix next year, with series creators the Duffer Brothers teasing more details on the Upside Down for the new season, plus a connection between David Harbour’s Sheriff Hopper and Millie Bobby Brown’s Eleven.
