With Deadpool running riot in cinemas across the globe right now, Avatar’s Stephen Lang is campaigning for a role in the already-being-planned sequel. And not just any role, but the role of Cable.

Cable is known to comic book fans as being a badass time-travelling mutant who is the son of Cyclops and a Jean Grey clone. An expert marksman and able to use telekinesis, he’s been a long-time partner of Deadpool’s in the funny books.

Lang has long been discussed amongst fans as being perfect to play Cable, and the actor took to his Twitter account over the weekend to reveal that he’s also on board with the idea:

Given how a team-up with Cable would make perfect sense at some point in any Deadpool sequel, here’s hoping that Lang ends up with the gig should the character appear down the line.

Deadpool opened last week and has already brought home an impressive amount of change, making a sequel, which is already being written, a no-brainer.
