In some rather awesome news, there’s a new TV series on the way that will be based around Stephen King stories.

J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot company revealed the news of this new show, confirming that it will be set in Castle Rock. For those well versed in King’s work, Castle Rock is part of the author’s fictional Maine topography and is often used as the setting for his stories. The locale first appeared in 1979’s The Dead Zone and has been used as recently as 2014’s Revival. Some of King’s more famous Castle Rock-set works include Cujo and Needful Things, while heavy hitters such as It, The Stand and even Creepshow reference the town.

This was all confirmed in the below teaser video:

Being developed for Hulu, the series – seemingly just titled Castle Rock – will be based in King’s infamous location. To be an anthology series, the show will bring together characters and tales from the whole host of King stories set in Castle Rock, and each season of the series will focus on a different set of characters.

As ever, expect more on all of this as it develops.
