The second batch of independent short films has been announced for the STARBURST International Film Festival (SIFF), which takes place in Manchester over the Bank Holiday weekend of August 25th – 27th.

The next four short films that will be on the schedule are:
FTL – a stunning and emotional journey into space as an astronaut attempts to go faster than the speed of light across the galaxy. Directed by SFX supremo Adam Stern (who has worked on TV shows such as Continuum, Minority Report, and was Emmy nominated for Almost Human in 2014), it’s a dazzling spectacle with a genuine heart.
Hell’s Bells – Directed by Luke Jeffery, this atmospheric chiller takes us into the darkness that is morris dancing. Surprisingly, this one isn’t played for laughs and is remarkably creepy.
The Stay – Directed by Frazer Lee (who wrote the screenplay for Panic Button), show us a nightmarish holiday for one lone female. Broodingly creepy, this short is very much in the tradition of classic TV show Tales of the Unexpected
Bragging Rights! – Directed by James Atkins, this whimsical short is much in the fashion of the famous ‘Four Yorkshiremen’ sketch originally performed on At Last the 1948 Show (but made immortal by Monty Python) and is a fun low-key ‘behind the scenes’ look at superheroes and their rivalries.

Tickets are available now for an Early Bird price. Watch this space for more exciting announcements.

Filmmakers can submit their features and shorts for consideration to the STARBURST International Film Festival at FilmFreeway, and everything selected is entered into the STARBURST Fantasy Awards, where we recognise the best independent work shown over the weekend
