Now that we know Grand Admiral Thrawn will be introduced in Season 3 of Star Wars Rebels, we’re all eagerly awaiting the show’s return later this year. And on that front, it’s now been confirmed that Rebels will be premiere its third season on September 24th.

As in previous years, the premiere episode itself will be a one-hour affair, with that episode being used to introduce the aforementioned Thrawn.

The blurb on Rebels’ new season reads:

Having established a secret base on Atollon, the Ghost crew, now led by a more powerful Ezra, strengthens the rebel fleet by acquiring new resources and recruits eager to stand against the Empire. However, the Imperial efforts to eliminate the rebellion are now being led by the coldly analytical Grand Admiral Thrawn, whose strategic, tactical and cultural insights make him a threat unlike any they have faced before. In Season 3, Ezra and Sabine take on new roles and challenges as the rebels prepare for their biggest mission yet – a direct assault on the Empire.

Star Wars Rebels will return to Disney XD in the US on September 24th, with a UK return expect to follow shortly after. And if you missed it previously, check out the Season 3 trailer below:
