Thanks to a routine in-flight photo session from flying school Airborne Aviation, we can have a sneaky look at how things are progressing on the set of STAR WARS: EPISODE VII.

Matthew Myatt didn’t even realise what he had captured until he later looked through the pictures taken while he was photographing another plane for his company over Greenham Common.

Although not the great quality, the photo clearly shows a half-built Millennium Falcon (which we can assume will be either for close-up work or digitally filled in) and an X-Wing, albeit covered in weather-proof covering (which makes it look like the best Christmas present ever!).

Filming is taking place at the former RAF Greenham Airbase in Berkshire as this shot confirms, as well as at Pinewood.

No doubt the skies above the Common will now be a lot busier, while director J.J. Abrams will probably be making the air turn blue.

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII opens December 15th 2015, and the untitled STAR WARS spin-off movie hits the following year on December 16th.
