While the ongoing global pandemic is seeing a multitude of movies and TV projects indefinitely put on hold or outright cancelled, these times of lockdown have also seen certain new projects rear their heads. And in the case of Sylvester Stallone, it appears he’s at work on a Demolition Man sequel.

Stallone revealed the news during an Instagram Q&A, as he explained how, “We’re working on it right now with Warner Bros. and it’s looking fantastic. So that should come out, that’s going to happen.”

It may not have quite received critical acclaim at the time, but 1993’s Demolition Man has amassed a huge cult following over the subsequent years. For those not familiar with that picture, Sly’s John Spartan is a lawman frozen in time for 36 years and defrosted in 2032. Spartan isn’t alone in undergoing this procedure though, for Wesley Snipes’ murderous Simon Phoenix was frozen and defrosted in the same way – and Spartan finds himself teaming with Sandra Bullock’s Lenina to try and take down Phoenix.

As ever, expect more on this potential Demolition Man 2 as we get it.
