During the recent hack on Sony, a whole ton of information has been leaked out relating to current and upcoming films. Now you can add THE SINISTER SIX to that list. ComicBookMovie is reporting on a leaked e-mail conversation on just which names were wanted to star in Sony Pictures’ AMAZING SPIDER-MAN spin-off. These e-mails are a couple of months old now, but they could give an indication on just which type of talent the studio has lined up for their villain-centric team-up movie.

In the conversation, director Drew Goddard says that he wants Tom Hardy for the role of Sandman, whilst that particular villain may act as comic relief in the film. Additionally, it’s believed that names such as Danny McBride, Jonah Hill, Chris O’Dowd, Michael Pena, and Sharlto Copley have been discussed for that role. The director also wanted Emily Blunt for the role of Scorpia, although Sony Pictures’ Amy Pascal countered by suggesting Emilia Clarke or Rose Byrne. For Doctor Octopus, depicted as the leader of the team, Sean Penn and Woody Harrelson were the top choices, whilst Colin Firth was wanted for The Vulture and Channing Tatum was wanted for Venom. Other names being considered for a role in the film were George Clooney, Denzel Washington and Daniel Craig.

As mentioned, these e-mail conversations took place earlier in the year so by this point Sony Pictures may have a whole list of different names in mind. Additionally, it’s worth noting that Hardy has signed on to play Rick Flag in Warner Brothers’ SUICIDE SQUAD, whilst Tatum has signed on to play Gambit in 20th Century Fox’s X-MEN world.

To be directed by Drew Goddard, THE SINISTER SIX is currently set for a November 11th, 2016 release.
