Remember Sony’s animated Spider-Man movie? You know, the one that was announced several months back? To be written and produced by The LEGO Movie’s Phil Lord and Chris Miller? Well either way, it’s now run into a little bit of a delay.

The film was initially set for a July 20th, 2018 release but has now been pushed all the way back to December 21st, 2018. No reason has been given at this stage for the delay.

This animated effort was first announced just after the big reveal that Spider-Man would be appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with the animated movie operating completely independent of Tom Holland’s MCU Wallcrawler.

Whilst this movie may be delayed, Holland’s live-action Webhead will make his cinematic bow in May’s Captain America: Civil War before then spinning off to his own July 2017 solo movie.
