In Sony’s mad bid to gobble up all stories old and new, news comes from The Tracking Board that the studio is developing a redo of H.G. Wells’ seminal science fiction novella THE INVISIBLE MAN. The story followed the tragedy of a talented scientist who discovered a means to become invisible, but no way to turn back.

Of course, there’s a spanner in the works as Sony plan to flip the concept on its head and make the Invisible Man the villain of the piece. The story will follow his devious exploits as well as the task force charged with catching him (y’know, like DEATH NOTE).

The redo will be handled by DIVERGENT producers Lucy Fisher and Doug Wick.

We’ll bring you more as we hear it.
