A Social Network sequel, you say?

Speaking to AP Entertainment, The Social Network’s Aaron Sorkin has revealed that a sequel could well be on the way for the 2010 Facebook-centric movie.

First of all, the Oscar-winning Sorkin revealed that producer Scott Rudin has been regularly emailing him to start developing a Social Network follow-up. And given what’s gone on in recent years, the world of Facebook is certainly ripe for the picking.

As Sorkin explained, “I know a lot more about Facebook in 2005 than I do in 2018, but I know enough to know that there should be a sequel. A lot of very interesting, dramatic stuff has happened since the movie ends with settling the lawsuit from the Winklevoss Twins and Eduardo Saverin.”

Of course, Facebook has been involved in hacking scandals, the pivot-to-video situation, and then the whole Cambridge Analytica issue since The Social Network was released.

Whether anything more comes of all of this, we’ll have to wait and see. As ever, though, expect more on this if and when we get it.
