The cult action comedy Smokey and the Bandit films are heading back to the stores next month on Blu-ray.

The hit series began in 1977 and was the second highest-grossing film of the year, second only to Star Wars. Starring Burt Reynolds as the Bandit, who’s hired to deliver some illegal Coors beer (yes – that was banned east of the Mississippi at that time!) from Texas to Atlanta, while being pursued by Sheriff Buford T. Justice (the ‘Smokey’, Jackie Gleason), it’s a wild action-packed, stunt-heavy, fun chase flick. Along for the ride is Reynolds’ then-girlfriend Sally Field.

Two follow-ups, Smokey and the Bandit Ride Again and Smokey and the Bandit III (sometimes subtitled Smokey is the Bandit) kept the adventures going, and now you can relive all the thrills, spills, and car action in HD as Fabulous Films release the trilogy as a box set on November 21st.

The second and third will also be available separately from November 14th, making their Blu-ray debut in the UK.
