‘Were’, the debut short film from horror director Julie Robinson, is now available to watch online.

After premiering to an enthusiastic reception in February at Women in Horror event Jennifer’s Bodies, its creator has bravely released it into the unforgiving wilds of the internet for all to see.

Set against a beautiful colour contrast of the dark shadows of a forest and the warm glow of a fire, at a mere eleven minutes long it’s not demanding viewing, but in that short time it sets up a wonderfully eerie scenario. It features a trio of young women around a woodland campfire who encounter a faintly sinister man appearing from the trees and trying to gatecrash their evening, and in its brief length it craftily pulls you along in a slightly different direction from the one you think it’s going in.
