Remember when Robert Downey Jr. had Marvel Studios by the balls in terms of a Tony Stark return post-IRON MAN 3? Sometimes actors have all the power, especially when they feel they or their colleagues are being hard done to. Step forward, Ian Ziering.

The star of SHARKNADO and SHARKNADO 2: THE SECOND ONE is apparently after more money to return for the already-confirmed SHARKNADO 3. NY Daily News is reporting that the actor is haggling for a bigger paycheque but that the producers aren’t prepared to bow to these demands. The outlet apparently has word from a source close The Asylum, the studio who produces the movies, who says, “They’ll replace him, they’ll replace Tara Reid. They’re not essential to the story. No one is. The sharks are graphics, and everyone else is replaceable.”

Replace Tara Reid? To us that’s a plus point already! In fairness to Ziering, he was only person who came out of the first movie with any sort of credit, although he sadly seemed to slip down to Reid’s standards for the SHARKNADO sequel.

In terms of numbers, Ziering apparently took home $400,000 for the first SHARKNADO and was actually hesitant to return for the sequel. Given how the audience numbers were nearly three times as much for the sequel, with just shy of 4 million people tuning in to watch the premiere of SHARKNADO 2: THE SECOND ONE.

SHARKNADO 3 is confirmed to surface next year, with or without Ziering’s involvement. In case you missed it, you can find or SHARKNADO 2 review here.
