Just when you thought it was safe to go back into the water… and the bar, the sky, the White House, space, or pretty much anywhere else imaginable. Yep, as the headline suggests, Syfy has moved to announce their fifth Sharknado movie.

To premiere on August 6th, the film is officially titled Sharknado 5: Global Swarming – with its tagline being that it will “Make America Bait Again.” This, of course, follows on from the 2013 original, 2014’s Sharknado 2: The Second One, 2015’s Sharknado: Oh Hell No!, and 2016’s Sharknado: The 4th Awakens.

As ever with the franchise, a whole host of C-list and bizarre cameos are lined up, with this latest entry to feature appearances from Gilbert Gottfried, Kathie Lee Gifford, Clay Aiken, Tony Hawk, Olivia Newton-John, Bret Michaels, Margaret Cho, Al Roker, Charo, Fabio, and Chris Kattan.

To be directed once more by Anthony C. Ferrante, the official blurb on Sharknado 5: Global Swarming reads:

The mission gets personal for Fin Shepard (Ian Ziering) and his bionic wife, April (Tara Reid), when their young son gets trapped in a travelling ‘nado and transported all over the world. From London to Rio, Tokyo, Rome and Amsterdam, the heroes seek assistance from royals, scholars, Olympians and news talking heads in their epic battle.

All sounds like a hot, steaming turd to us, but the thing is, we’ll very likely be turning in on August 6th to check out the carnage.
