As Gotham gears up for its fifth and final season, the genre fave has brought in Nikita’s Shane West.

Courtesy of Deadline, West will playing Eduardo Dorrance, an old friend of Ben McKenzie’s Jim Gordon. Dorrance will turn up in Gotham City with a group of elite soldiers who are tasked with cleaning up the muggy landscape of the city. That’s not all, mind, for Dorrance will have a darker side to him – much like many who pass through Gotham.

For what it’s worth, in the comics there’s an Edmund Dorrance who just so happens to be the father of Bane and also go by the moniker of King Snake. Whether Eduardo Dorrance is Gotham’s spin on Edmund Dorrance, we’ll have to wait and see.

Gotham returns to screens in January.
