It was only last week that the news of Olivia Munn joining Shane Black’s The Predator was followed with reports that the film would actually take place in modern suburbia. Well, Black himself has moved to play down those stories about the movie’s location.

When asked about the ‘modern suburbia’ angle by Collider, the writer/director shot that notion down by saying not to expect “Predator lurking in rich, fancy swimming pools.”

No details are yet known on just where The Predator will actually take place, but we at least know not to pack our goggles, snorkel and water wings to take a splash in somebody’s penthouse pool.

What we do know, however, is that Munn will be playing a scientist opposite Boyd Holbrook’s Special Forces commando. Black has penned the script along with Fred Dekker, and the current plan is to start shooting early next year ahead of a February 9th, 2018 release.
