Matt Fraction and Kelly Sue DeConnick, dubbed ‘comics first couple’, have inked an impressive two year deal with Universal TV to develop several of their comic book properties alongside some original concepts specifically written for the small screen. SEX CRIMINALS, Fraction (and Chip Zdarsky’s) filthy sensation, is the first in line to get adapted.

Between them, Fraction and DeConnick have worked on some of Marvel’s hottest properties, including HAWKEYE and CAPTAIN MARVEL, as well as creator-owned properties like PRETTY DEADLY and BITCH PLANET. The duo plan to use their production company, Milkfed Criminal Masterminds, to help other indie comic artists and writers get their work on screen.

Universal TV EVP Bela Bajaria revealed in a statement, “We’re always excited to usher in fresh voices to the television space, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to partner with Matt and Kelly Sue, a fantastic pair whose award-winning comics are as deeply realized as they are entertaining.”

It’s definitely an exciting time to be a comics fan.

As always, we’ll bring you more as we hear it.
