With any and all comic books seemingly fair game for adaptation these days, now comes word that Brian Michael Bendis and Alex Maleev’s Scarlet is heading to HBO.

Bendis revealed the news at the ATX Television Festival, saying, “I do a book called Scarlet which is soon to be announced also in our universe of television. Not announced yet, but HBO.”

Scarlet launched in 2010, with the action focussing on the titular character as she looks to start a revolution in a real-world crime landscape.

Bendis is a huge fan favourite of many, with him having done wonders on Ultimate Spider-Man back in 2000 before also doing memorable work on the likes of Alias and Powers, not to mention making Miles Morales Spider-Man a few years ago.

Expect more on Scarlet as it develops.
