Sharpen your tools and finalise your traps, because Lionsgate has set a release date for Saw XI! The horror franchise’s latest entry will be landing in cinemas on September 27th, 2024, the studio announced via their Saw Instagram account. It marks almost exactly one year between it and the previous film, a surprisingly fast turnaround.
The latest instalment, Saw X, was a critical hit for the franchise and became the first in the long-running series to earn a Fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes. Saw X turned its relatively more sympathetic eye towards Tobin Bell’s John ‘Jigsaw’ Kramer, as the story saw him, sick and desperate, travel to Mexico for a risky, experimental medical procedure he hopes will provide a miracle cure for his terminal cancer. Soon, however, he learns that the operation is a scam to defraud the most vulnerable. Obviously, Kramer then decides to return to his work, turning the tables on the con artists in his signature way: with deranged, elaborate, deadly traps.
As for what Saw XI might have in store for fans, we know absolutely nothing yet besides the release date. So, stay tuned for more information, like who will be directing the instalment, as we hear it!
