With the next entry in the Saw franchise on the way later this year, the film has brought in its first cast members.

Variety is reporting that the eighth film in the series, which is titled Saw: Legacy, has added Laura Vandervoort and Hannah Anderson. Whilst Anderson is best known for Lizzie Borden Took an Ax, genre fans will be familiar with Vandervoort for her appearances in Bitten and as Supergirl in Smallville.

No plot details whatsoever are known on this next outing for a franchise that last hit the big screen in 2010 with Saw 3D. The screenplay has been put together by Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfinger, the writing pair behind the Sorority Row remake and the two modern Piranha movies.

To be directed by Daybreakers’ Peter and Michael Spierig, Saw Legacy is currently set for an October 27th release.
