In further evidence that no property truly remains dead forever, Syfy’s Sanctuary is making a return to TV nearly ten years after it first came to a close.

Via Deadline, Syfy has opted to bring back this long-standing genre favourite and give it the reboot treatment.

The Damian Kindler-created Sanctuary premiered back in 2008 – although it actually began life as a 2007 webseries –  going on to run for four seasons before getting the axe in 2011. And for fans of that four-season run, the early word is that discussions are already ongoing to have Amanda Tapping return as the near-immortal Dr Helen Magnus.

In Sanctuary, Tapping’s Magnus and her team spent the majority of their time trying to protect superpowered sorts and save the world.

As ever, expect more on this Sanctuary reboot as we get it.
