Guillermo del Toro’s Hellboy movies have a whole host of fans out there, and now star Ron Perlman is looking to make a big push to get Hellboy III made.

Fans have wanted Hellboy III, del Toro has talked about how he wants Hellboy III, and Perlman has also previously talked about how he wants Hellboy III. With Perlman currently enjoying a peak in popularity thanks to Sons of Anarchy, the actor is looking to use his position to try and get a third Hellboy off the ground.

Taking to his Facebook page, Perlman said, “Anybody out there wanna see Hellboy 3 as much as I do? Let’s get this muthaf*cka trending, y’all! Let’s end the trilogy; we earned it!”

As a result of Perlman’s post, the term #HellboyIII has been trending on Twitter over the last little while.

Both of del Toro’s Hellboy movies won plaudits from fans and critics alike, and the sequel even took more money than the first film. Why a film hasn’t happened yet remains a relative mystery, although it seems simply that neither film took the big money that was hoped for.

Here’s hoping that Hellboy III does finally get off the ground, and expect more on this as and when it develops.
