The wait is over; the
crowdfunding for the audio return of Robin of Sherwood starts on September 15th.
Fans will be able to receive exclusive rewards by donating towards production
costs on popular platform Indiegogo.

Producer Simon Barnard explains, “By contributing to our Indiegogo
campaign, you’ll have access to a little piece of Robin of Sherwood history:
signed artwork and scripts, a limited edition box set, and specially made
Knights of the Apocalypse merchandise. You’ll also be able to come to the
London premiere in 2016, and meet some of the cast! And best of all, you can do
this safe in the knowledge that every penny we make in profit will go to Robin
of Sherwood creator Richard Carpenter’s favourite charities, the British Red
Cross and the Sherwood Forest Trust.”

If you missed the announcement a few months ago, the
original cast (including Ray Winstone, Jason Connery, Clive Mantle, Judi Trott
and Nickolas Grace) are reuniting to produce a one-off audio adventure, The Knights of the Apocalypse,
available early 2016.

The story was penned by series creator Richard Carpenter but
never filmed. Richard sadly died on 2012 and any profits made will go to his favourite
charities. His daughter Hannah had this to say, “I’m thrilled to learn of
the return of Robin of Sherwood as an audio production, especially as it is
based on a script my father wrote many years ago… The fact this audio will
benefit two such worthy causes as the Red Cross and the Sherwood Forest Trust
simply makes it all the more worthwhile.”

Jason Connery is another looking forward to the reunion,
adding, “My time in Sherwood was spent working with wonderful actors who became
lifelong friends, and behind it all was Richard ‘Kip’ Carpenter’s brilliant
writing, whose scripts we brought to life. After many false dawns, I can
finally say that ‘Robin of Sherwood’ is coming back. And so am I! The Hooded
Man is ready to face the evil machinations of the Sheriff of Nottingham again,
surrounded by my wonderful band of Merries, in a brand-new audio adventure
written by Kip himself. We may be a little older and wiser in real life but, on
audio, we’re forever young and golden-haired.”
