In some great news for video game fans, Telltale’s The Walking Dead is indeed going to get a proper send-off.

To give some background here, Telltale Games has had to cut a large percentage of their staff, in turn scrapping any projects that were in development – such as The Wolf Among Us 2 and the conclusion of The Walking Dead: The Final Season. But now, Robert Kirkman has stepped in to save the day.

Courtesy of Variety, Kirkman’s Skybound Games will take over The Final Season for the concluding two episodes of the season and, in turn, the game itself. Speaking at New York Comic-Con, Kirkman enthused, “We’ve successfully negotiated with Telltale Games for our company Skybound to come in and see Season 4 of the Telltale game to completion. We can’t lose Andrew Lincoln and Clementine in the same year.”

Lincoln, of course, is due to depart AMC’s The Walking Dead during its upcoming new season, while Clementine is the focal point – and a hugely popular character – of the video game series.

Expect more on the last two episodes of The Walking Dead: The Final Season as it continues to develop.
