As The X-Files gears up to bring some familiar faces back to our screens, the show has also brought in some fresh meat to find out if the truth really is out there.

The Hollywood Reporter has word that Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose have been added to the show, with both appearing in the fourth episode of the return as FBI Agents Miller and Einstein, respectively. Amell is best known for the likes of The Tomorrow People and The Flash, whilst many will be familiar with Ambrose for her turn in Six Feet Under.

Of course, The X-Files wouldn’t be The X-Files without Mulder and Scully (even though the show tried to go a different route at times previously), and David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson will be returning to head up the new series. In other returns, Mitch Pileggi will be back as Skinner and William B. Davis is coming back as the Cigarette-Smoking Man. Further new additions will see Joel McHale and Annet Mahendru get in on the action.

The X-Files returns for six new episodes starting January 24th, 2016.
