Comic book legend Joe Simon has sadly passed away at the age of 98.

Simon is best known for his work with Marvel Comics, co-creating seminal hero Captain America in 1940 and serving as their first Editor-in-Chief.

For a full account of the man’s huge contribution to the comic world, you need not look any further than Simon’s excellent autobiography MY LIFE IN COMICS released earlier this year (a review of which can be found here).

Our thoughts go out to his family and friends.
