It is our very sad duty to report that after suffering from a rare blood disease for almost four years, acclaimed filmmaker and actor Harold Ramis has passed away. He was 69. 

Ramis contributed to a plethora of comedy classics early on in his 37-year long career such as ANIMAL HOUSE, STRIPES, CADDYSHACK, NATIONAL LAMPOON’S VACATION and MEATBALLS, before finding his biggest success in a movie dear to every STARBURST reader’s heart: GHOSTBUSTERS. Not only did Ramis co-write the screenplay alongside close friend Dan Aykroyd, he also starred as the unforgetable Egon Spengler. Nine years later, Ramis gave us yet another genuine classic with GROUNDHOG DAY, which he wrote and directed in 1993.
