It is with sadness that we have to report the passing of award-winning actor Edward Herrmann. Having recently been battling brain cancer, he passed away yesterday morning at the age of 71 years of age.

Herrmann’s manager Robyn Stecher released a statement, saying, “Having valiantly braved months of treatment for brain cancer, Edward Herrmann passed peacefully at 8:30am today at Sloan Kettering hospital in New York City.”

Genre fans will instantly recognise Herrmann for his role as Max in Joel Schumacher’s classic THE LOST BOYS. Having won an Emmy in 1999 for THE PRACTICE, the actor was more recently seen in a recurring role in GILMORE GIRLS as well as appearances in the likes of GREY’S ANATOMY, THE GOOD WIFE and HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER.

The thoughts of all at STARBURST go out to the friends and family of Edward Herrmann.
