Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty has released the official season 7 trailer ahead of its premiere on October 15th, only it sounds a little different! This seventh season of the cult television series will be the first without the involvement of co-creator and star Justin Roiland, after Warner Bros. fired him him following domestic abuse allegations. The charges were later dismissed by the Orange County District Attorney’s office due to insufficient evidence.

A replacement for Roiland – who voiced both Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith, alongside a host of other characters – has yet to be announced, despite the voice being heard in the trailer. Online sleuths, do your worst!

The hit adult animated series follows a sociopathic genius scientist who drags his inherently timid grandson on insanely dangerous adventures across the universe,

A Warner Bros. Discovery press release teases the voice recast and hints at what fans might expect from this upcoming season: “Rick and Morty are back and sounding more like themselves than ever! It’s season seven, and the possibilities are endless: what’s up with Jerry? EVIL Summer?! And will they ever go back to the high school?! Maybe not! But let’s find out! There’s probably less piss than last season. “Rick and Morty,” 100 years! Or at least until season 10!”
