TROUSER SNAKE

We love a good short here at STARBURST, whether it’s something eerie and gripping or simply a brief feature that you can throw on and just enjoy for a few minutes. And it’s in that second category that Alex DiVincenzo’s Trouser Snake falls.

Plot-wise, DiVicenzo’s latest short centres on Tommy {Alexander Gauthier) and the problematic pest that lurks below his belt. With a penchant for rearing its, err, head at all the wrong times, Tommy’s little lad can’t help but cause chaos for the troubled teen in this ‘50s-set effort. Whether it’s embarrassing arrivals at the dinner table or threatening to ruin an experience at the ever-reliable Lovers Lane, poor Tommy just can’t catch a break as the beast that lurks within his pants will crash any party… particularly if it’s a party in his pants.

Stupid? Yes. Low budget? More like no budget. Cheesy acting? Most definitely. But Trouser Snake is a brilliant way to spend a few minutes of your day, and it’s certainly a memorable little film that will erect itself in your memory for the foreseeable future. With its ‘50s setting, its golly-gosh demeanor and its near-slapstick spoof-like humour, Trouser Snake is worth unzipping and admiring for its undeniable charm and its kitsch value.

Playing like an excerpt from the fantastic Chillerama or a long lost Troma effort, DiVicenzo has produced a film that leaves you wanting to see more (keep your eyes peeled post-credits), whether it’s in further shorts or maybe in a slightly lengthier, girthier feature. This is a balls-emptying brilliant blast of fun that’s just waiting to be unloaded… Enough dick jokes already? Fine! Regardless, make sure to track down this Trouser Snake today.
