PUBLISHER: EAGLEMOSS PUBLICATIONS LTD • RELEASE DATE: OUT NOW
In an increasingly illogical world, the capacity to think straight, pause, assess, and make a plan to move forward is more vital than it’s ever been, and this release from Eaglemoss does just that.
Using the original and most logical of Vulcans as our guide, the book breaks down into nine chapters, covering topics such as focus, keeping an open mind, love, family, acceptance, change, and so on, and it’s worth noting that while Spock is an obvious choice to equate with logic, he’s also half-human; this book isn’t expecting you to be perfect. Just as Spock had to wrestle with his human emotions on his path towards understanding his Vulcan half and ultimately accepting himself, so this self-help book asks you to look at yourself while following Spock through his own timeline.
Now, don’t be put off by the word ‘Self-help’. This book belongs firmly on the Star Trek shelf, as it not only gives hints and tips on how you the reader can organise your life and mind a little better but also gives an insight into the psyche and journey of Spock himself. It includes lessons from Season 2 of Star Trek: Discovery (surely hinting at a later edition once Star Trek: Strange New Worlds launches), touches on the three seasons of the Original Series, the overlooked animated series and the original cast movies and lovingly ends with Leonard Nimoy’s final tweet.
Far more interesting than you might imagine, and worth checking out.
