Ever wondered what all the stuff on the roof rack of Ecto-1 is? Or what other equipment and tech is in the back of the Ghostbusters famous car? Or just what all those little details and touches are on a Proton Pack? Or what the various lights and noises the PKE Metre makes when looking for paranormal activity? If you answered yes to any of those questions, this may be the Owners’ Workshop Manual for you.
If you’ve picked up any of the previous Haynes OWMs before – particularly the ones that tie in to film franchises – then you have a good idea of what you can expect from this one. Covering the 3 Ghostbusters films (although most of the focus is on the 1984 original), the book takes a look at the vehicles and equipment from the films through text, diagram and sketch drawings, screenshots and notes from the Ghostbusters team members.
The book offers enough detail to make you an instant expert in the various Ectomobiles, Proton Packs, Traps, PKE’s and more, without getting too bogged down in the techno-babble or losing its sense of fun in the subject and the franchise it’s set in, making for an enjoyable and informative read.
It might not give you enough information to build your own Proton Pack, but you’ll probably have enough information to operate one should you ever find yourself with an unlicensed nuclear accelerator on your back, which will come in handy should the team ever be hiring.
