REVIEWED: SEASON 3 (ALL EPISODES) | WHERE TO WATCH: NETFLIX
Dark is a show that refuses to wait around for its audience, so if you think you can jump in at Season 3, and have any inkling as to what’s going on, then you’re very mistaken! You’ll need to go right from the start, but have no fear, as it’s certainly more than worth the commitment.
In Season 1 and 2, the fascinating residents of Winden set about finding missing children, initially evoking a wonderful fusion of The Outsider and Stranger Things. With its foundation locked in, Season 3 sees Dark evolving into its own thing, as its protagonists Jonas (Louis Hofmann) and Martha (Lisa Vicari) desperately dig through mysteries and lies seeking an answer. This season rewards those who’ve been paying attention with a sharp time-jumping format, even more scary moments, and creepy new ‘villains’, all pushing Dark through light and shadow towards its fantastic finale.
We’re all used to shows that were addictive when they started out but ended up leaving us underwhelmed and confused when they concluded, but rest assured, in its final episode Dark ties up its paradox-like threads with ease, ensuring its whole audience is left satisfied. Kudos to all those involved with bringing this mind-blowing concept to completion.
