Fans of the Resident Evil movie franchise can get set to rejoice at the news that a new entry in the series is now back on.

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter (but really, are they ever really final chapters?) was set to start production last year but got delayed due to star Milla Jovovich falling pregnant. The actress is also married to RE director Paul W.S. Anderson, and so production was completely stopped until a TBC date in the future. Well things are now back on and ready to go.

Jovovich revealed that news by taking to her Instagram page:“Well, the moment so many of you have been waiting for is finally here where I can tell you that it’s zombie killing season for the Jovovich-Anderson clan! Here I am getting my face cast made for “resident evil: the final chapter”!! I leave to South Africa tomorrow to start prepping for the movie! #residentevilmovie #ladiary”

When Resident Evil: The Final Chapter was about to start production previously, the initial plan was to head to Cape Town, South Africa to begin shooting. Based on Jovovich’s post, it looks like the same plan could again be in place.

Resident Evil: The Final Chapter will be the sixth outing in the Resident Evil franchise, and the fourth with Anderson directing. As well as Jovovich returning, Wentworth Miller will also be back as franchise fave Chris Redfield.

Expect more details as it develops.
