With JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS confirmed for a big screen reboot earlier this year, Universal Studios and Blumhouse Productions have now announced the film’s planned release date. Jem and her crew will be hitting screens a year from now, with a release of October 23rd, 2015 confirmed.

The original JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS property, created by Christy Marx, started life as an animated series back in 1985, focusing on Jem, the musical megastar alter-ego of young Jerrica Benton who was able to use her holographic Synergy computer to create and perform rock concerts with her friends.

To be directed by G.I. JOE: RETALIATION’s Jon M. Chu, this latest incarnation of the property will star Aubrey Peeples as Jem, Stefanie Scott as Kimber, Hayler Kiyoko as Aja, Aurora Perrineau as Shana, Ryan Guzman as Rio, and unknown roles for Juliette Lewis and Molly Ringwald.
