Ultra-rare British comedy Ghost in the Noonday Sun is heading to DVD for the first time anywhere in from Fabulous Films in December.

Made in 1973 and starring Peter Sellers, Spike Milligan, Anthony Franciosa, and Peter Boyle, it was famously a disastrous shoot, with Sellers doing everything he could to make sure it never got completed. The star attempted to get director Peter Medak (who later recovered and made The Changeling, The Krays, and Let Him Have It) thrown off the film, and eventually, it fell behind schedule and lay shelved for years. Only a half-finished VHS was released in the US many years later, and after the death of Sellers in 1980. This will be the World Premiere of the movie on DVD, as it was never seen in the cinema.

Synopsis:
Peter Sellers stars as the bumbling Captain Dick Scratcher – a high seas pirate. Peter Boyle, Spike Milligan and Antony Franciosa lend their comedic talents in their search for buried treasure! Dreaming of untold riches and a harem of curvaceous woman, Scratcher and his roguish buccaneer band set sail for Treasure Island. But Captain Scratcher’s quest for riches runs into a little snag – Ras Mohammed’s ghost. A chest of loot worth a King’s ransom lies buried beneath the ex-pirates remains! He fiercely protects his precious stash; and he doesn’t take kindly to conniving grave robbers….

Ghost in the Noonday Sun is released on DVD on December 12th. You can pre-order it here.
