Whilst X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST firmly split the opinion of both fans and critics alike, one of the undoubted highlights was Evan Peters’ Quicksilver. After the characterisation of the character was lambasted by many beforehand (us included), Quicksilver’s time on screen was a joy to behold. And now comes confirmation that the character will also be appearing in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE, the follow-up to DAYS OF FUTURE PAST.

DoFP’s second unit director, Brian Smrz, revealed to Newsarama, “They want me to start pretty soon, on the storyboarding and stuff. I’ll be working on the next X-MEN for the next month or so part-time, and by the end of the year it’ll be full-time. There will be another Quicksilver scene, which I’m looking forward to. That’ll be fun.”

Smrz was massively involved in that Quicksilver scene (the slow-mo Magneto escape) and even went on to tease the possibility of a solo film for the character, adding, “We talked about Quicksilver before. I’d love to Quicksilver as a solo film because there’s a lot of energy with that character.”

Whether a solo film happens or not, it appears that Quicksilver will be returning when Bryan Singer’s X-MEN: APOCALYPSE hits screens on May 27th, 2016.
