Finally! Having been announced last year, David Lynch’s Twin Peaks revival has now been given a premiere date.

Coming out of the TCA press tour, TV Line is reporting that Twin Peaks will start its return with a two-hour premiere on Sunday, May 21st in the US. This new season will be made up of 18 hours, and the third and fourth episodes will be made available on Showtime’s streaming service immediately after the two-hour premiere airs.

Showtime’s David Nevins said, “We’ve seen the whole thing… and the version of Twin Peaks you’re going to see is the pure-heroin version of David Lynch. I’m very excited to put that out.”

This return to a beloved old favourite will star Kyle MacLachlan, Sherilyn Fenn, Madcen Amick, Sheryl Lee, David Duchovny, Laura Dern, Michael Cera, Richard Chamberlain, Jessica Szohr and Trent Reznor.

No date has been set at this stage for when we can expect Twin Peaks to air in the UK, but expect to hear about that as soon as we get more details.
