Following on from yesterday’s first look at Ultron, EW has brought some new plot information on what we can expect to see in Joss Whedon’s AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON, particularly in relation to the villainous Ultron.

Cap himself, Chris Evans, explained to the outlet, “A lot of times when Ultron starts talking, it’s beautiful. It’s really intelligent stuff. He’s out to do the things he wants to do because he’s disgusted with X, Y, and Z. You could probably sit down with Ultron and have a really intelligent conversation. He could blow your mind with his views.”

The character of Ultron is said to be all about bringing world peace. Thing is, he sees the human race as responsible for stopping world peace. The magazine even quotes some of Ultron’s dialogue from the movie, with him saying to Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, “I know you’re good people. I know you mean well… but you just didn’t think it through. There is only one path to peace… your extermination.”

As presumed, this version of Ultron has also been confirmed as being a piece of Tony Stark’s work that went wrong. Initially starting the movie off as part of Stark’s ‘Iron Legion,’ a team of Iron Man-type robots who do Stark’s crime-fighting work for him, the character of Ultron also serves as some sort of twisted son to Stark, even taking on certain quirks of Tony’s personality. Chris Hemsworth, the movie’s Thor, added, “It’s not the good version that could’ve come from Stark’s intellect and personality, it’s the bad one.”

So whilst this is nothing majorly earth-shattering for long-time readers of The Avengers and Ultron stories, it is a little insightful on how Ultron will be portrayed in Whedon’s AVENGERS ASSEMBLE sequel.

Currently shooting over here in the UK, AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON stars Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Don Cheadle as James Rhodes, Aaron Taylor Johnson as Quicksilver, Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch, Thomas Kretschmann as Baron Von Strucker, and James Spader as Ultron. There’s also apparently a role for Andy Serkis, and rumours suggest that Anthony Mackie, who appeared as The Falcon in CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER, has been spotted on the movie’s set.

Directed by Joss Whedon, AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON is set for a global 1st May, 2015 release, whilst us UK folk will get the sequel on 24th April, 2015.
