Remember that upcoming “recalibration” of the Halloween franchise that’s been talked about? Well some more concrete details are now coming out on the project.

Moviehole is reporting various new information on the film, which will be the eleventh Halloween movie to date. Firstly, the title of this next installment is said to be Halloween Returns. Secondly, the plot is to focus on a new generation of Haddonfield teens who end up coming up against the brutal Shape, Michael Myers. Predictable plot? Maybe just a little.

The report from the outlet goes on to say, “The new 18-year-old child of one of Myers’ victims plays a central role along with the child of a cop whose long been obsessed with Myers’ case, even putting it before his own daughter. Myers is on death row and the two kids with their own personal vendettas against the killer sneak in to watch his execution. But when things go awry and Myers escapes, the pair, along with their friends, find themselves in the firing line.”

It had previously been reported that Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton were penning the script for this new Halloween, and that’s still the case. Interestingly enough, when Melton was asked this weekend on Twitter about when details of Halloween Returns will be revealed, he responded, “Perhaps already has… depends on where you look,” which only adds further to suggesting that the above story has some truth to it.

At present a director has yet to be announced for Halloween Returns (if that is indeed the official title), but casting is already underway.

Expect more on this next entry in the Halloween series as it develops.
