With Kingsman: The Golden Circle on the way later this year, director Matthew Vaughn has revealed that he’s already thinking about where the franchise could go with a third outing for Eggsy and Co.

Speaking at a 20th Century Fox publicity event (as per Deadline) in which he showed footage of The Golden Compass’ first half hour, Vaughn revealed that he and writing partner Jane Goldsman are already looking at their options for a third Kingsman picture.

The writer/director explained, “Weirdly, while we were writing Kingsman 2 we were thinking of Kingsman 3 as well, which is odd. We’ve got a big idea for that. This is sort of the bridge, and if we can pull this off we’ll make another one.”

The early buzz around the sequel to the hugely popular 2015 film is that it’s just as violent, action-filled, funny, and entertaining as its predecessor – which is massively good to hear, for Kingsman: The Secret Service proved to be one of our favourite films of the past decade.

With Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, Sophie Cookson and Colin Firth returning, The Golden Circle will feature new additions to the series with the likes of Channing Tatum, Halle Berry, Julianne Moore, Vinnie Jones, Pedro Pascal, Jeff Bridges, and Sir Elton John.

At present, Kingsman: The Golden Circle is set to hit UK screens on September 27th.
