With DC’s Legends of Tomorrow now in development, the new CW series has found itself a showrunner.

Deadline is reporting that Phil Klemmer has landed the gig, with him having worked regularly with executive producer Greg Berlanti in the past. Klemmer’s previous credits include the likes of The Tomorrow People, Chuck, Veronica Mars and Golden Boy.

The official synopsis on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow reads:

When heroes alone are not enough… the world needs legends. Having seen the future, one he will desperately try to prevent from happening, time-travelling rogue Rip Hunter is tasked with assembling a disparate group of both heroes and villains to confront an unstoppable threat – one in which not only is the planet at stake, but all of time itself. Can this ragtag team defeat an immortal threat unlike anything they have ever known?

Set in the same universe as Arrow and The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow stars Brandon Routh as The Atom, Victor Garber as Martin Stein, Caity Lotz as White Canary, Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold, Dominic Purcell as Heat Wave, Ciara Renee as Hawkgirl, Franz Drameh as Jay Jackson (believed to be the show’s take on Static Shock, Black Lightning or Cyborg) and Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter. The “immortal threat” in question? That’d be Vandal Savage.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow is set to debut early next year.
