Whilst Daniel Craig’s return to the franchise is still up in the air, it looks as if the next James Bond picture could well be close to landing a director.

As per IndieWire, Paul McGuigan is apparently the frontrunner to helm the next outing for 007. McGuigan is likely best known for the likes of Lucky Number Slevin, Victor Frankenstein and several episodes of Sherlock and Marvel’s Luke Cage.

With Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson reportedly impressed with McGuigan’s upcoming Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool, it appears that the director has jumped to the front of the line when it comes to who will be in the hot seat for Bond 25.

As ever, expect more on this and the longstanding saga of Craig’s status with the series as and when we get it.
